It is unlikely that the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, will declare the invasion of Kosovo, because this would incite the anger of the West and this would be a suicidal mission. In addition, he would have to say who occupied Serbian territory, Albania, America, the UN or Kurti, while he is seeking to declare the occupation of a part of Kosovo's territory.
This possibility was made known by the tabloids, raising the tension before his speech, since it was noticed in the public opinion that he reacted very lukewarm to the entry of the Kosovo Police into the Serbian institutions in the north of Kosovo, so he was forced to schedule a presentation of specifically on that topic and to announce the further moves of Serbia.
It can be assumed that he will announce his departure to New York for the session of the UN General Assembly, where he will ask for support for Serbia, and the announcement of the invasion only serves to attract the attention of the audience. However, given that the invasion may be accompanied by liberation and military intervention and may frighten some citizens, the question has been raised as to how realistic this option is and what this move means in practice.
Predrag Petrović, director of research at the Belgrade Center for Security Policy, explains to " Danas " that occupation means that the enemy's army has occupied a certain territory and is exercising power over it. Asked how realistic this statement of Vučić is, he answers that it is an unrealistic option, considering that the status of Kosovo is regulated by a UN resolution and that this would put Serbia in conflict with practically the whole world. primarily with the strongest western states.

On the other hand, political analyst Dragomir Angjelkovic tells Danas that it is unlikely that Vucic will declare an invasion because it would anger the West and that this is an empty threat. He added that Vucic, who accepted the Franco-German plan and Ana Brnabic, who withdrew the letter in which Serbia says it will not recognize Kosovo's independence, can hardly be people who can declare war on that part of the territory of Kosovo.
" But if he were to declare the occupation of the territory, the great powers are obliged to implement Resolution 1244. In our Constitution, we do not have a section that refers to temporarily occupied territory. But theoretically we can declare that this territory has been stolen from us and that we will not give up on him ", said Angjelkovic.
While Dragan Sormaz, chairman of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Serbia, in his statement to Danas shows another aspect that Vucic would have to answer if he decides to take this step to conquer the north of Kosovo.
" He would have to say who occupied a part of the territory. Albania? So what was he doing all this time with Eddie Ram and how did he sign a deal with him? USA? Where do American officials come from in Serbia, American companies, why do we accept American donations?! The UN? This would be a precedent, as the UN has never done it! Is KFOR a UN peacekeeping mission or an occupying army? So why then does the army, whose commander-in-chief is Vucic, cooperate with KFOR on a daily basis ", asks Sormaz.
He then adds another question, where he asks Vucic if Kurti has occupied the territory that Serbia wants to occupy, if so, then he emphasizes that Vucic should resign as the commander-in-chief as he has failed to protect the state's territory.
" In the end, Kurti? Did his "so-called state" conquer Kosovo? So you, as commander-in-chief, lost the war! You have to resign and answer for what you have done ", stressed Sormaz.
For Sormaz, the announcements about the announcement of the invasion are meaningless and that the truth must be told to the citizens.
" The truth is as follows. The implementation of the Brussels-Ohrid Agreement is in progress. After the fiasco in Banjska, Vucic left it to Pristina to create the state of Kosovo in the entire territory, which is a de facto recognition. I am not against him. I blame him for using such manipulations to hide from the people and lie to them. It also worries us about future development and positioning. However, it seems right to me that the Kosovo issue should be finally resolved while he and the socialists are in power. They created this problem by doing badly in the nineties ", concluded Šormaz.
Unofficially, in the political scene, it is heard that Serbia has signed the Kumanovo Agreement and no longer has the possibility to declare the occupation.
