The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has been summoned by the Special Prosecutor's Office.
The news was announced by the spokesperson of the Government of Kosovo, Përparim Kryeziu. He has announced that the Special Prosecutor's Office of Kosovo has sent an invitation to Prime Minister Albin Kurti, while he was at the meeting of the Presidency of the VV to finalize the list of candidates for deputies.
In his response, Kryeziu claims that through this invitation he is trying to interfere in the elections.
" While Prime Minister Kurti is at the meeting of the Presidency of the VETċVENDOSJE Movement! to complete the list of candidates for MPs from the LVV, Guxo and Alternativa coalition in the 2025 elections, the Prime Minister informed me that an invitation has arrived for him from the Special Prosecutor's Office. In the last elections, there was a court decision which made it impossible for him to run in the election race of February 14, 2021, and now, through this invitation, an attempt is being made to influence the outcome of the 2025 elections. The purpose remains the same. The method has changed. This is the intervention of the justice system in the electoral process ", writes Kryeziu.
According to the invitation, Kurti must appear at the Special Prosecutor's Office on December 16, 2024. Earlier, the senior official of the VV, Dejona Mihali, also appeared at the Special Prosecutor's Office. It is not known what it is about and whether it is related to the KLA veterans already detained by the Special Court.
