The British ambassador in Kosovo, Nicholas Abbott, has stated that he has not yet read the draft statute that the Albanian government submitted to Macron and Scholz.
However, he added that proposals for the extension of the situation remain welcome, regardless of who they are offered.
" I haven't had time to read it yet. We remain concerned like all of Kosovo about the developments in the North. We are continuously looking for an extension of the situation. We do not think it is necessary for mayors to work under police supervision.
We also do not believe that it is necessary for Kosovo's special units to act as guards for municipal buildings. They have more important work to do. So I hope that in the coming days we will see a change, proposals and more cooperation between security agencies.
As ambassador I'm currently talking to a lot of people trying to figure out what's the best way forward ," Abbott said.
