The Vetëvendosje movement has officially reacted to Prime Minister Edi Rama's proposal for the Association of Serb-majority municipalities in Kosovo.
The chairwoman of the LVV parliamentary group, Mimoza Kusari Lila, said that Prime Minister Edi Rama has not consulted with the Kosovo government about the draft statute.
" We don't know how to see it because we haven't seen that draft statute. As Prime Minister Rama himself said, he did not consult with us. I think that the specifics and circumstances of this process in Kosovo are such that the entire history of this process should be taken into consideration and of course the importance of moving forward based on principles.
Prime Minister Kurti also mentioned in the session that he expects to be further elaborated on the vision or even the principles of the draft statute and not on the immediate jump, where the issue of the draft statute of the association turns into a matter of bargaining: one version is there and the other version based on the principles of the Republic of Kosovo and all other principles for which the international community and the USA and the European Union have given a guarantee.
We should not enter into a process in which we have to change versions of the draft statute, to end up in a format of a state in which other non-majority communities live", said Kusari-Lila.
Asked if the government of Kosovo is interested in seeing the draft statute, Kusari Lila said that they do not need self-provided saviors, but for a draft that will focus on the direction of the state and the rights of the communities in Kosovo.
" The government of Kosovo is interested in discussing the vision and principles, we have seen the draft statute, although not from Albania. We have seen one that was done by the management team of the previous term.
We do not need a savior to provide us with a draft charter. We need ownership and the elaboration of principles in focus with the direction of the state and the rights of the communities in Kosovo, with ownership and clarity for the future of our country ", said Lila, hitting Rama.
