The year 2025 was recorded as the first year without any murders in the Peja region, 26 years after the end of the war in Kosovo.
The Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution Office in Peja, Lumturije Vuçetaj, called this a historic achievement, as it was assessed as the result of close inter-institutional coordination and citizens' trust in justice institutions.
" After 26 years after the war, the year 2025 stands out as the only year without any murders in the Peja region. This has come as a result of good coordination and deepening inter-institutional cooperation with the Kosovo Police, with other institutional mechanisms, without ever minimizing the close cooperation and trust of our citizens ," said Vuçetaj.
According to data presented by the Prosecution, during the first 25 years after the war, 203 murders were recorded in the Peja region, leaving behind 227 victims.
