The court session for the murder of Liridona Ademaj was held this Sunday in Pristina.

The hearing against the husband of Liridona Ademaj, Naim Murseli as the organizer of the murder, Granit Plava and Kushtrim Kokalla, a member of the KSF, started at 09:30. The process, which is held behind closed doors and without the presence of the media, is also being followed by Liridona's family members, including her brother.

Meanwhile, outside the court, a symbolic protest is being held, organized by the Collective for Feminist Thought and Action.

"There is no peace without the safety of women", is the banner that the activists are holding.

"We will not stay calm while men rape and kill girls and women. Women experience war every day", said Trina Binaku:

"They will not stay calm, as long as men continue to rape and kill girls and women. Just this week we were informed that a policeman raped and blackmailed a minor in Gjakova. Another man raped a minor in Peja and a man paid for the murder of his wife in Pristina. Gendered violence against girls and women and femicide are not isolated incidents or symptoms of the psychological problems of the perpetrators of these crimes, they are symptoms of parktialkalism, which continues to govern the family, society, power and all of us. They are the result of a structural partisan violence that continues to oppress women and produce violent and murderous people in every cell of the social and political organization. We women and girls in Kosovo live in constant fear for our safety and the safety of each other. "Gendered violence is haunting us in every space and some are even killing them, and this should not continue like this, our country cannot have peace as long as women experience a state of war every day".

Meanwhile, on Tuesday starting at 18:00, the Collective for Feminist Thought and Action has called a protest in "Zahir Pajaziti" square, in Pristina.

"Today, from the Palace of Justice where the murderers of Liridona Ademaj are being judged, we call to organize and act all over Kosovo to gather and say unanimously that there is no peace without the safety of women and demand that gender-based violence and femicide be treated as an emergency national", said Binaku.
