The spokesperson of the European Union, Peter Stano, regarding the attack that took place in Banjska i Zveçan, said on Sunday that the situation should be escalated and a way out of the ongoing crises should be found through dialogue.
Stano, in a press conference, refused to say whether the European Union will impose punitive measures on Serbia as well.
"The measures imposed on Kosovo are not sanctions, we have said from the beginning that the EU has been clear that the measures are temporary, if the EU finds a reason, it will present them to Serbia as well", said Stano. He considers that a very dangerous situation has been created in Kosovo.
"The EU is very clear - we are mediators. Both sides want to join the EU and their way is through dialogue. We don't have to deal with dangerous crises like we have now, but we have to help them. All of this has been stated very clearly in the announcement of EU members on how they should behave in order to enter the EU", declared Stano.
He was also asked about a possible high-level meeting in Brussels, saying that the parties "will be invited when it is convenient".
