Nothing new from the Kosovo Assembly. The session called to elect the Speaker of the Assembly has failed, while Albulena Haxhiu, proposed by Vetëvendosje, has not secured the necessary number of votes to take the leadership position.
There were 116 deputies in the hall, of whom 57 voted for Haxhiu's election, 56 against and 3 abstained.
After this failure, Donika Gërvalla's name was also put to the vote, but she also did not secure sufficient support to be elected.
Based on the Constitutional Court's decision, two more processes now remain, as a maximum of three votes are allowed for the same candidate.
The next session will be held on August 22 at 10:00 AM.
