The Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti has severely criticized the justice system in Kosovo. During the executive meeting, Kurti mentioned the stagnation of the judiciary and the recent cases of murders in Kosovo, where the suspects are wanted by justice.
" An example is the last case with the sentence of life imprisonment of the murderer of the late Marigona Osmani, i.e. Dardan Krivaqa. It was necessary for a society and a whole people to publicly condemn the crime, so that the Court can issue a meritorious verdict ", said Kurti.
He further added that the best way to make the justice system more efficient is vetting reform.
" The Court of Appeal had returned 1,754 cases to full retrial. This report burdens the justice system, overwhelms it, delays justice, loses the trust of citizens, and as a final effect, in the absence of efficient punishment, risks encouraging crime and criminality. Therefore, reform is a necessity and vetting is the solution ", said the Prime Minister.
For five months, the law on vetting in justice has been in the Constitutional Court for interpretation.
At the government meeting held this Wednesday, the Administrative Instruction on Appropriate Preventive and Protective Measures to Prevent the Participation of Children in Night Clubs and other similar spaces was approved.
