The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, reacted after the murder of Liridona Ademaj.
Through an article on the social network, Osmani states that the monstrous crime should receive the deserved punishment. Furthermore, Osmani stated that there is an urgent need to strengthen the implementation of the law and that the perpetrators of such heinous crimes face the harshest punishments provided for in the law.
"The murder of Liridona Ademaj is a monstrous crime that must receive the deserved punishment.
Femicide is harrowing evidence of the deep-rooted inequality and violence women face. It is a tragic account of lives brutally cut short simply because of gender. The loss of women's lives at the hands of men is a stain on our collective conscience.
Therefore, there is an urgent need to strengthen law enforcement and make the perpetrators of such heinous crimes face the harshest punishments provided by law.
This horrific crime requires swift and decisive action to ensure that justice prevails and that the perpetrators receive the punishment that reflects the gravity of this macabre crime.
In these difficult moments for our whole country, we share the pain with Liridona's family, and in particular with her children who lost their dear mother in the most monstrous possible circumstances", writes Osmani.
