Four police officers have been suspended from duty in connection with the triple murder in Gjilan. Through a statement to the media, the Kosovo Police Inspectorate announced that a preliminary investigation has been launched, within the framework of which it will be investigated whether there was any omission or possible involvement of any member of the Kosovo Police in the criminal activity of the suspect wanted for the triple murder in Gjilan.
"Based on legal authorizations and the importance of preserving the integrity of the investigation and avoiding any influence on witnesses or evidence, the Kosovo Police Inspectorate has today recommended to the Kosovo Police the suspension of four police officers of the Regional Police Directorate in Gjilan ," the announcement states.
Based on the recommendation of the PIK, a police sergeant and an investigator from the regional investigation unit of the Regional Directorate in Gjilan, a sergeant, chief of investigations at the Novo Brdo Police Station and a police officer engaged in the Rapid Reaction Unit, Gjilan Regional Police Directorate have been suspended.
