Serbian President Aleksandër Vucic is currently holding a press conference where he is talking about the problems and tensions encountered in the north of Kosovo.
Vucic said that Serbia is currently in a difficult legal-political situation regarding Kosovo and Metohija, even though his government is trying to do a lot for the Serbs in the north. He emphasized that Kosovo remains the most delicate issue for Serbs.
" What remains our most painful and difficult point is Kosovo and Metohia. Kosovo is "the most expensive word for every Serb", and at the same time "the most difficult word" and often with an unbearable ease of irresponsibility, its use and misuse has led to meaninglessness ", said Vucic.
As for the idea of conquering the north of Kosovo, Vucic blamed the Serbian people, who, according to him, would not support his idea of war.
" If we had proposed something, at the end of the day, everyone would be against it. Those who call for arms on the first day to invite them not to make the bed in the barracks, would say that it is difficult ", said Vucic.
Further, the Serbian president added that there is no good solution for solving the problems in Kosovo and Metohija and that the decisions to be made will be difficult. He said that no one will ever be satisfied, no matter what measures Serbia proposes.
"I know all the problems in Kosovo and Metohija and I know that there is no good solution. The measures are difficult and not simple. There is no miracle worker who can bring the Serbs a good solution for Kosovo and Metohija ," he said.
He accused the Albanians of the decline in the number of Serbian residents in Kosovo and Metohija since 1981, as he emphasized that the Albanians had been waiting for this moment for a long time.
" Albanians saw the light at the end of the tunnel when the strikes started. We did not understand everything that was happening in the world and we paid a high price for it. We paid a tragic price. We are being attacked completely illegally for someone to realize their interests, although we should not overlook the fact that a significant number of Albanians have died tragically, which we should not forget if we want to be objective and decent ," he said.
Further, Vucic said that Serbia would respect the Brussels agreement, but the same thing, according to him, is not expected to happen on the part of Kosovo.
" Until 2013, we have a hundred countries that recognize Kosovo's independence. Only the strongest in the world and those who have similar problems to us remain on our side. I know that we will adhere to the Brussels Agreement like drunks and the Albanians will not respect it" , said Vucic
He emphasized that the Brussels Agreement was the best agreement we could get at that moment, but so far it has resulted in a failure for the Serbs because Kosovo does not respect any of the agreed points. Vucic said that in the future he expects nothing but bad news from the West.
" We knew that Prishtina would not fulfill what was signed. We received assurances and believed that at least signing the EU would guarantee something, which turned out not to be the case, when the breakdown of the Brussels Agreement and the desire for it, at any cost, so-called, begins. Kosovo should be independent, with the disappearance of the Serbs. And this was especially pronounced in the era of Aljbin Kurti. In the next period we can expect worse news because they have elections ," said Vucic.
Further, Vučič presented a 7-point plan that will re-establish relations with Kosovo
1. Announcing and holding free and democratic local elections in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, with the participation of the OSCE and the EU Mission;
2. Implementation of Article 9 of the first Brussels Agreement through the collective return of Serbs to the Regional Directorate of KP North;
3. The return of Serbian judges and prosecutors to judicial functions;
4. The withdrawal of the so-called special forces of the Kosovo Police from bases and checkpoints illegally built in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, as well as their withdrawal from all institutions that provide vital public and administrative services to citizens from 1999 to in their illegal closure in 2024;
5. The urgent, urgent and final formation of the Union of Serbian Municipalities, without confusion and further political games, it is clear to us that for 12 years it was only a game to buy time, with the aim that the ZSO will never be formed and this with this cancels all the rights of the Serbs. This concretely means the approval of the final draft of the statute of the ZSO in the manner defined by the Working Regulations of the Management Team, by democratically elected representatives of the Serbian community in the north of Kosovo and Metohija;
6. The immediate implementation of the guarantees of the European Union and the USA from December 28, 2022 and the immediate release of all political prisoners who were arrested by the so-called Kosovo Police for their democratic, civic or political activism - and especially those arrested for participation in peaceful protests/barricades;
7. Immediate enablement of uninterrupted payment transactions and postal services.
These requests will be forwarded to future international activities that will include talks and special events within the UN and OSCE systems, as well as raising awareness of the violation of Serb human rights within the UN Committee. for Human Rights./ Pamphlet
