Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated today that the participation of Serbs in the local elections being held today in Kosovo was higher than that of Albanians, according to data up to 10:00.

"Until 10:00, the turnout was greater in Serbian environments than in Albanian ones. I hope for the victory of the Serbian List, I hope that a part of the power can return to its hands," Vučić told reporters in Belgrade.

The Serbian president further stated that "Albanians are very nervous" due to the "high turnout in the elections" in Serb-majority areas.

According to Vučić, Albanians from all areas, from Tirana and Pristina to Preševo and Bujanovac, are "drunk after last night's victory" of the Albanian national football team against Serbia, in Leskovac.

"I would like there to be a more important celebration tonight in the Serbian communities in Kosovo, compared to that celebration," Vučić said.

Today, October 12, elections for mayors and representatives of municipal assemblies are being held in Kosovo.
The CEC announced that voter turnout as of 11:00 was 7.84 percent.
