Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are hosting a lavish wedding in Venice, where their guests will lack for nothing… as they are reportedly spending a staggering $50,000 per person!
This high figure comes from a report by Brides.com. With a guest list of less than 200 people, that translates to at least $10 million for the wedding.
Of course, this is just "pocket money" for the Amazon founder, who is estimated to have a fortune of around $230 billion, according to Bloomberg.
There are even reports that Bezos could spend up to $20 million on this once-in-a-lifetime wedding experience. And again – no big deal for someone who proposed with a 30-carat engagement ring!
The Bezos-Sanchez couple's wedding is expected to be the event of the year, bringing together big Hollywood names - like Orlando Bloom (without fiancée Katy Perry) - in the "City of Canals" to witness the formalization of their love.
Lauren's ex, Tony Gonzalez, is also said to be traveling to Venice to attend the ceremony.
According to TMZ, the couple and their guests will stay at the luxury Aman Venice Hotel, a historic building where prices per night range from $2,000 to $10,000. The hotel is fully booked from Wednesday to Sunday.
As the rich and famous prepare to descend on Venice, wedding planners are facing a number of challenges - including angry protesters, who have forced real-time adjustments to security plans to ensure a smooth event.
