The son of Norway's crown princess, Marius Borg Hoiby, is being investigated at large on suspicion of committing three rapes and 23 other criminal offenses.
Oslo police announced on Friday that the charges against the 28-year-old were filed after more than 10 months of investigation. During that time, dozens of witnesses and other people with knowledge were questioned.
"I cannot go into further details about the number of victims, other than confirming that it is a double-digit number," said police representative Andreas Kruszewski.
Through a statement, Hoiby's defense attorney, Petar Sekulic, stated that his client is completely innocent and that he does not admit to any wrongdoing, especially when it comes to sexual abuse or violence.
Marius Borg Høiby, who is the adopted son of the future king of Norway, was arrested three times last year at different times: in August, September and November, on suspicion of committing the crime of assault.
The matter has now been transferred to the prosecution regarding the aforementioned offenses, while the royal family has not commented on the case, leaving everything in the hands of justice.
The 28-year-old holds no official position or royal title.
