11-year-old Milena Brandao, known in Brazil for her participation in the popular Netflix series Sintonia, died on Friday in a Sao Paulo hospital after several episodes of cardiac arrest, her mother confirmed.
The little girl experienced severe headaches on Wednesday and was rushed to the hospital. Over a two-day period, she suffered a total of 12 cardiac arrests, according to the doctor who treated her.
"The doctors still haven't told me exactly what happened to my daughter and what killed her," her mother, Thais Brandao, told Brazilian news network G1.
The first symptoms began on April 24, with the young actress complaining of headaches, leg pain, drowsiness, loss of appetite and episodes of fainting.
During this time, she visited an emergency center and two state hospitals in São Paulo.
Initially, doctors suspected it was a dengue fever infection, but later tests revealed the presence of a brain tumor.
Milena Brandao died nine days after the first severe symptoms appeared.
The news has shocked the Brazilian artistic scene, where the young actress enjoyed everyone's love.
Thais Brandao wrote on social media about her daughter's death: "At 2:05 a.m. we lost our little girl, but I am sure she is in the arms of our Almighty Father and in a wonderful place to play."
