
On March 26, the government condemned the publication of the "fake death certificate with the image of the President of Serbia, which was shared on Facebook.
The chief prosecutor of the High Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade has ordered the urgent identification of the persons who created the false announcement of the death of the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.
The high-tech crime department has been ordered to identify the people who shared this notice on social media. Chief Prosecutor Nenad Stefanovic said:
These actions constitute a criminal offense that is pursued according to official procedures and must be sanctioned in accordance with the law".
The official of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Ana Brnabić also reacted to the photo.
She said that the competent bodies are doing their job as the announcement of the death is "neither a joke nor fun", but disturbing and represents a "clear threat to the life of the president".
Defense Minister Milosh Vucevic said this is "another shameful campaign against the Serbian president. He claims that the opposition coalition "Serbia against violence" can hide behind this scandal.
