Baby Lasagna has received a 50,000 euro reward from Croatia for the second place he took in Eurovision, but he refused the money. He gave the news on his Instagram where he wrote that he cannot accept 50 thousand euros. He said that he himself will not accept the money allocated to him from the state fund, but requests that the Government donate it to those who need it most.
"I thank the Croatian government for the monetary reward of 50,000 euros. However, I cannot accept this money. I can give many reasons why, but the first, most important and sufficient one is that there are many other individuals and organizations who will be helped by this money more than I am. I hereby ask Mr. Plenkovic, on behalf of me and the Croatian government, to donate 25,000 euros to the Institute for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology at the 'Mladen Ćepulić' hospital. While the other 25,000 euros I would like to donate to the Institute for Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation, KBC Zagreb. Thank you," Marko Purishič wrote.
The popularity of the Croatian singer Baby Lasagne increased significantly after the Eurovision contest in Malem, where he won second place. Although he did not win, as many expected, the singer's popularity increased significantly. Concerts sold out in a few minutes prove this. Months ago, Baby Lasagna from Croatia with the song "Rim Tim Tagi Dim" was considered the main favorite in "Eurovision 2024", but took second place with 547 points.
The race was won by Nemo, who collected 591 points.
