Grimes and Elon Musk, once one of the most talked-about couples in the world of technology and art, now seem to share not only a past history and children together, but also open public criticism.
This time, the Canadian artist has "targeted" the X platform (formerly Twitter), owned by her ex-partner.
After a long absence from social media, Grimes returned to promote her latest musical collaboration with producer Sub Focus. But instead of just commenting on the music, one of her statuses immediately went viral:
"I stopped using social media completely, and now that I'm back, it seems perfectly clear to me that this platform, like most of them, is poison - a prison filled with nonsense that has nothing to do with anyone."
Her post received over 1 million views in a few hours and sparked numerous discussions, both from those who praised her honesty and from followers who ironically reminded her that she was referring to Elon Musk's platform.
Grimes' reaction comes amid a wave of reflection that many artists are making on the impact of social networks - even when they are connected to people close to their personal lives.
