Harrison Ford has reportedly stepped down as host of the 2025 Oscars after being diagnosed with herpes. The “Indiana Jones” star learned of his diagnosis and pulled out of the awards show Saturday morning, according to Entertainment Weekly. He is reportedly resting and doing well, according to the outlet.
The Mayo Clinic defines herpes as “a viral infection that causes a painful rash” and is not life-threatening.
Ford representatives were not immediately available to Page Six for comment.
The actor was announced as a presenter at the 2025 Oscars, alongside Rachel Zegler, Zoe Saldaña, Samuel L. Jackson and Gal Gadot.
One of his last public appearances was at the 2025 SAG Awards in Los Angeles on February 23.
Despite his recent diagnosis, he revealed that he was in good physical condition during an interview with People published on February 27. Meanwhile, Ford has recently experienced personal stress, after his Brentwood, California, estate was threatened by a catastrophic fire in January. At the time, the movie star was photographed riding in the back of a police car as officers helped him search his property.
