Organizing travel for Sean “Diddy” Combs was no easy task, according to testimony from his former assistant, George Kaplan, who testified Wednesday in Manhattan federal court. According to Kaplan, the rapper had a long list of specific requests for each hotel stay, and he often had only a few hours to fulfill them.
Kaplan said Diddy and his chief of staff, Kristina Khorram, gave him detailed instructions on how to set up the environment at luxury hotels in cities like Los Angeles, New York and Miami. Two of Combs' favorite hotels were The InterContinental in LA — where he was filmed raping Casandra “Cassie” Ventura in an elevator — and the Trump International Hotel & Tower in New York.
To avoid attention from fans and the media, Combs used a fake name for bookings: "Frank Black," a reference to the name of the late artist Notorious B.I.G., known as "Frank White."
According to Kaplan, before Diddy arrived, he had to prepare the room with specific items that included: clothes, speakers, candles, alcohol, body oil and lubricants. He admitted in court that he bought these himself with a company credit card, and that Combs would often call him to bring food, clothes and "sometimes drugs."
"I did it," Kaplan declared. He added that he also took ketamine for him and that Diddy always had Advil and other substances in his toiletry bag.
When asked why he cleaned the rooms himself, Kaplan said: “It was implicit – protecting his public image was very important.”
Kaplan is one of many witnesses who have testified against Combs, who faces felony charges of sex trafficking, prostitution and organized criminal activity. Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
