The Israeli war cabinet has given the green light to soon send a delegation to Qatar to continue discussions in Paris on a new deal for a Gaza ceasefire and the release of hostages, according to Israeli media reports.
In Paris, the Israeli delegation led by Mossad chief David Barnea discussed a cease-fire plan developed in January with American and Egyptian counterparts and Qatar's prime minister.
"Perhaps there is room for an agreement. The delegation asked to inform the war cabinet and therefore the cabinet has been reconvened," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's national security adviser, Tzachi Hanegbi, said on Saturday evening.
Overnight, Israeli media reported that the war cabinet meeting ended with the decision to send a delegation to Qatar in the coming days to continue negotiations.
