Following the sudden death of Indian billionaire and friend of Prince William, Sunjay Kapur, his huge £2.7 billion fortune has become the subject of a bitter family battle.
Kapur, 53, died on June 12 during a match at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor. He is believed to have been stung in the mouth by a bee, causing an allergic reaction that led to a fatal heart attack.
The businessman was the heir to Sona Comstar, one of India's most prestigious auto parts companies, founded by his father. After his death, control of the company has led to major clashes between his widow and his immediate family.
Priya Sachdev, Kapur's third wife, is currently in open conflict with his 80-year-old mother, Rani Kapur, who is supported by two daughters, Mandhira Kapur Smith and Superna Kapur Motwane.
Rani Kapoor, the company's former president, claims she was forced to step down from running the business just days after her son's death.
In a letter sent to the board on July 24, she also raised doubts over the circumstances of Sunjay Kapur's death and accused the company's executives of taking advantage of the family's pain to take control of Sona Comstar.
A day after this letter, on July 25, Priya Sachdev was appointed as a non-executive director at the company's annual general meeting.
While the widow has not publicly reacted to the allegations, her office released the coroner's report, which confirms that Sunjay Kapur died of natural causes - dismissing suspicions raised by his mother.
