Mimoza llastica was a very popular character among Albanians and continues to be so even today, despite the fact that 50 years have passed since the production of the film. Although the protagonist is known by everyone at the age of 7, few people know that Mimoza lastica is actually Zhaklina Dhimojani.
Zhaklina was born on July 25, 1965 and celebrated her 58th birthday.
When she played "Mimosa the Garter Belt" in 1973, she was a pampered 7-year-old, with very beautiful features and keen eyesight.
Today, Zhaklin enjoys the attention of the Swiss media, where in a field far from acting, she started her career as a translator, while today she is engaged in local politics.
There she also met the federal prosecutor Stefan Blättler, who is now her husband. According to the Swiss media, Dhimojani is as popular in Albania as Heidi is in Switzerland.
A senior Albanian politician was amazed when he saw the photo of the couple on the official account of the Swiss parliament. "Of course I know him", says the politician.
"We grew up in the same neighborhood in Tirana and went to the same school. Anyone who grew up in Albania during the communist period remembers her name", says a well-known journalist in Tirana.
