Eindhoven, Netherlands

Located in the south of the Netherlands, Eindhoven is not as popular as Amsterdam or Rotterdam, which perhaps contributes to the more relaxed atmosphere on its streets.

Eindhoven in the Netherlands was named the most peaceful place to live in the world and earned this title thanks to its low crime rate, well-designed infrastructure and affordable cost of living.

Who works and who rests more in the EU?

Remitly, a digital finance company, has just released the results of a study that assessed the overall “stress score” of cities around the world. It took into account crime rates, cost of living, quality of healthcare, average pollution levels, and the average time it takes to travel 10 kilometers. This data is combined to produce an overall score that ranks cities from the most stressful to the most peaceful.

With an overall stress score of just 2.34 out of 10, Eindhoven came out as the clear winner. A 10-kilometer commute takes an average of just 14 minutes and 37 seconds in the city, and it also boasts low pollution levels. It also scores highly for safety, cost of living and healthcare.

Technological city of light

Located in the south of the Netherlands, Eindhoven is not as popular as Amsterdam or Rotterdam, which perhaps contributes to the more relaxed atmosphere on its streets. However, the city is an established center for design, industry, and the arts, and will soon be home to a second branch of the world-famous Rijksmuseum.

Eindhoven is "the city"

"tech capital" of the Netherlands - known as a center of high-tech industry and innovation, and many call it the smartest city in the country. It is also called the "City of Light" because it is here that the story of one of the most famous technology companies in the world began. Light, design and technology are still a big part of the city's identity today. It is also known for its sustainability projects and green technologies.

Every year, Dutch Design Week, the largest design event in Northern Europe, is held here, and a special attraction is the cycling path inspired by Van Gogh's "Starry Night", which is illuminated at night and makes you feel like you are riding through a work of art. Eindhoven has modern and contemporary art museums that often break the classic museum rules and deal with social issues, technology and the future.

Old factories have been transformed into attractive neighborhoods with cafes, galleries and co-working spaces, while fast internet, plenty of co-working spaces and an international atmosphere make Eindhoven a good choice for freelancers and digital nomads.
