Lorenc Palokaj, cousin of the famous rapper Unikatil, has shared details of the death of the latter's brother, Mentor Palokaj, who was found dead on March 2 in an apartment in the Arbëria neighborhood in Pristina, under still unclear circumstances.
Through a Facebook post, Lorenci has revealed the reasons that, according to him, may have led his relative to death. He claimed that he had been close to Mentor for the last three weeks and that the deceased had told him that day that he was not in good health.
"I was lucky enough to spend the last three weeks of his life with him. Five days before this event, during a conversation, he told me that his legs felt a little swollen. He said this indirectly, without making it a topic, and I thought it was something common, like a momentary fatigue or a non-serious concern," he writes.
As Lorenci claims, his death at the age of 42 could very likely have been the result of medical negligence. He writes that Mentor Paplokaj had undergone medical examinations and the results were not good regarding his heart.
"They told him he had to go to the hospital. But anyone who knew Mentor knows he would never submit to this situation," writes the honoree's friend.
He also dismissed speculation that Mentor may have died of an overdose, claims which circulated in the media.
"I am 1000% sure that the cause of death was not as speculated, but rather health problems. All those who knew him know what I am saying," he emphasized, among other things.
He also states that in the last few days he had been with him, he had noticed that Mentor looked at him as if he were seeing him for the last time.
"The way he looked at me that day was different. It was a deep gaze, as if he knew that would be the last time we would meet. Throughout the entire journey, I felt as if he accompanied me with his gaze ," he writes.
