The decision on Manchester City's 115 charges has yet to be announced, with a prominent football finance expert giving his opinion on the lack of moves.

In February 2023, City were charged with 115 breaches of financial rules by the Premier League, with a private hearing taking place in September 2024 and lasting until December 2024.

The responsibility for deciding the outcome of the biggest case in English football history, where unprecedented penalties have been announced, was given to a three-person Independent Commission panel.

However, a year after closing arguments were heard from both sides of the bar, there has still been no decision on the matter, despite a flurry of rumors and speculation.

The issue has dragged on into the 2025/26 season, with City operating as normal and having brought in a large number of new players, as well as signing record sponsorship deals and increasing the capacity of the Etihad Stadium to 60,000 seats.

-What are the 115 charges?

-Failure to provide accurate and up-to-date financial information from 2009/10 to 2017/18, including this year - 54 suspected violations.

-Non-cooperation with Premier League investigations from December 2018 to February 2023 - 35 alleged breaches

-Failure to provide accurate financial reports on player and manager compensation from the 2009/10 season to 2017/18 - 14 suspected violations.

-Breaches of Premier League profitability and sustainability regulations from the 2015/16 to 2017/18 seasons - Seven suspected breaches

-Non-compliance with UEFA regulations, including UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play regulations - Five suspected violations

It now looks increasingly unlikely that there will be a decision by 2026, but City, who confirmed a settlement with the Premier League over the APT rules, referred to the case in its 2024/25 annual financial report, where the club announced revenues of £694.1m and reported a minimal loss of £9.9m.

In its latest communication, City, which strongly denies all allegations, said the commission "is still in the process of reviewing the matter."
