The Spanish Football Federation disqualified Granada from the Copa del Rey on Tuesday after they fielded a non-federated player in their 3-0 first-round win over Arosa. Uzun's team played with their 24-year-old goalkeeper of the B team, Adrian Lopez, thus clearly breaking the rules.
Since it is considered an official competition, it is forbidden to use players from related teams, in this case Granada B, who are over 23 years old, it is stated in the regulation of this competition, while goalkeeper Lopez was 24 years old.
Arosa challenged Granada and took this Tuesday the decision, which guarantees passage to the next round of the King's Cup. Granada has 10 days to appeal and was fined 6,000 euros.
Real Madrid (won the Spanish Cup last year) were kicked out of the Copa del Rey in 2015 after activating winger Denis Cherishev against Cadiz.
