Como is once again the king of the transfer market in Italy, a club that continues to invest significant sums to provide Cesc Fabregas with a top-level squad, improved from last season, when they were one of the big surprises.
Expectations are rising, as are the ambitions of the entire club, which dreams of sustainable growth in its second year in Serie A, thanks in part to retaining many of its stars.
The shocking fact is that so far, the Lombardy club has invested almost 100 million euros, an exorbitant amount and much higher than that of other major championship clubs.
Napoli, Inter, Milan and all the others do not reach these figures, made possible thanks to the finances of the Hartono brothers, owners of Como and with a net worth of 48 billion dollars.
The big Serie A teams are trying to keep pace with the Lombardy club, which has a large amount of money to invest in this transfer window.
So far, Como has spent approximately €70 million to buy seven players, including Jesus Rodriguez, the most expensive at €22 million plus €5 million in bonuses (and a percentage of future resale value), and Baturina, who cost €18 million plus €7 million in bonuses.
These are considerable figures, but the cost of future signings, ready to be signed, must be added to this figure, in addition to the 50 million euros spent in the January transfer window.
The amount could increase significantly in the coming days, as the club is close to the permanent return of Perrone from Manchester City, which will cost approximately €13 million, and also the arrival of Davinson Sanchez, which could bring in another €10 million.
With these two additions, Como would reach 100 million euros spent in the summer transfer window, a truly excessive figure for Italian football.
