The Balkans say goodbye to the Champions League without starting well. The champions of Kosovo were eliminated in the first round of this competition, after they were defeated by the Santa Coloma team from the penalty spot with the score 2-4. The first match between these 2 teams had ended with the victory of the Balkans with a score of 1-2, sending the match into extra time as the team from Andorra found the net at the end of the match, making the overall result of this match to end at 3-3.
In the 90th+2nd minute, Santa Coloma opened the game thanks to an own goal by Egzon Sinani.
10 minutes later, the friends found the second goal. The hero of this team was De Hesus.
When it was thought that the Andorran team would reach the historic qualification, Balkan scored the goal that kept alive the qualification for the second qualifying round of the Champions League with Hamid in the 109th minute.
For more than 60 minutes, Balkan played with 10 players, after striker Adetunji was punished with a red card.
In the second qualifying round, Santa Coloma will face the Danes of Midtjyland, while Balkan will continue its European adventure in the Conference League.
The Kosovar team will face the loser of the Lincoln Red Imps-Hamrun Spartans pair.
