Balkan achieved an important victory with a score of 4-2 against Floriana from Malta, in the first match of the second qualifying round of the Conference League. The meeting, held at the “Fadil Vokrri” stadium in Prishtina, saw the team led by coach Orges Shehi overturn the result, with two doubles scored by Tolaj and Adetunji, who became the protagonists of the evening.
Floriana took the lead first, surprising the home team, but Balkan responded with force. Tolaj and Adetunji showed excellent attacking skills, scoring a goal each to overturn the score within the first half. However, Floriana managed to equalize again, bringing the score to 2-2. The drama culminated in the final seconds of the first half, when the lights in the “Fadil Vokrri” stadium were turned off for a few moments, creating an unusual atmosphere before the break.
In the second half, Balkan appeared more organized and determined to secure the advantage. Adetunji, who had already left his mark in the first half, became the protagonist again with a spectacular header, which gave Balkan a 3-2 lead.
The striker completed his personal double by scoring the fourth goal for the Kosovar team, which sealed the victory and gave them a significant advantage for the return match. Tolaj, also with two goals, proved decisive in building the Balkans' attacking game, creating spaces and taking advantage of the opportunities offered.
With the 4-2 victory, Balkan creates a good advantage ahead of the return leg, which will take place next week in Malta. Orges Shehit's team will aim to maintain their lead and secure qualification for the third round of the Conference League.
