A medical report has reignited the controversy surrounding boxer Imane Khelif's gender. The Algerian athlete won the gold medal in women's boxing at the 2024 Paris Olympics amid accusations that she was born male.
French journalist Djaffar Ait Aoudia reportedly shared Khelif's medical report, drawn up in June 2023 by endocrinology experts Soumaya Fedala and Jacques Young.

The report claims that Khelif was born with "testicles" and a "micro-penis". The report came months after Khelif won a gold medal in women's boxing at the Paris Olympics, which were held in July-August this year.
According to Djaffar Ait Aoudia's report published in Lecorrespondant, the Algerian boxer's medical report showed the "absence of the uterus", the presence of "gonads in the inguinal canals" (testicles in her abdomen), "a blind vagina" and a micro-penis. in the form of "hypertrophy of the clitoris".
The report was drawn up in collaboration between the Kremlin-Bicêtre Hospital in Paris, France, and the Mohamed Lamine Debaghine Hospital in Algiers, Algeria. He also suggested that Imane Khelif was affected by 5-alpha deficiency.
