Dinamo has managed to win the Albanian Cup for the second year in a row, after defeating Egnatia 3-2 in the final. However, the celebration for the capital's team is short-lived, as the team led by Ilir Daja will immediately return to the field for the important match against Vllaznia in the "Final Four" stage.
Tomorrow's match will be the seventh between the two teams this season. Dinamo and Vllaznia have met four times in the championship, while the other two meetings were held in the Albanian Cup. It was in the Cup that the "blues" secured qualification for the final and then lifted the trophy just two days ago.
Dinamo remains in the race for the championship title, although the situation appears difficult. Daja's team must win all three remaining matches and at the same time hope for favorable combinations of results from their rivals, to keep their chances for the championship crown alive.
After the conclusion of the “Final Four”, the capital team will have only a few days of rest before starting preparations for the European adventure in the Conference League. Dinamo will participate in this competition for the second consecutive season, after reaching the “play-off” stage a year ago.
Meanwhile, the Albanian Football Federation has also clarified the issue of cards for the final phase of the championship. Yellow cards do not carry over to the “Final Four”, while for red cards, the regulation stipulates that technical penalties received in the last week of the championship do not carry over to the final matches.
In the final week of the championship, Dinamo's Dejvi Metaj was the only player from the four teams participating in the "Final Four" to be punished with a red card. Since the card came for a wrong tackle and not for unsportsmanlike behavior, the player will be ready for the match against Vllaznia.
The first match of the "Final Four" will be played tomorrow and will pit Vllaznia against Dinamo, in a duel that is expected to have great weight in the race for the championship title.
