Granit Xhaka has shared a personal story during an interview with BBC Sport, where he spoke openly about the emotional experiences and the impact that his football career has had on his life off the field.
The Albanian midfielder has admitted that loneliness is one of the most difficult aspects for him, emphasizing that he has a constant need for the presence of close people. According to him, this is directly related to past experiences during his sports career.
" I hate being alone. I don't like being lonely. I think it's related to my football career and some bad moments we've been through ," Xhaka said.
He emphasized that family represents the main support in his life and that its absence significantly affects daily life.
" I'm a person who, if my family isn't here, I need people close to me. I need to have someone close to me ," the footballer declared.
In the interview, Xhaka also shared a personal detail that illustrates his difficulty with being alone. He revealed that, when his wife or children are not at home, he avoids being alone in the bedroom.
" For example, if my wife or children are not at home, I don't sleep in the bedroom. I sleep in the living room or somewhere else. I feel very bad ," he concluded.
