According to this international report, FIFA announces that last year more than 78 thousand player transfers were registered, which is a record figure, not only for the number of transfers but also for the expenses incurred for the services of these players, a figure that amounts to 8.59 billion dollars.
But given the fact that this report is global, it is obvious that our football is also included among these staggering figures.
Last year, Albanian football also achieved a record of foreign player purchases, 220 players, which probably justifies the increase in the number of foreigners who can be used in a football match in our championship from 4 to 7 starting from this January 2025.
This purchase of a large number of players by Albanian clubs certainly also indicates a relatively good financial situation for our football investors, as from player sales in 2024, Albanian clubs have benefited from $3.9 million, and this for only 138 sold footballers.
These are optimistic figures that show not only an increase in the value of footballers raised and trained in Albania, but also in the improvement of the level of scouts or presidents of Albanian football, to select even foreign elements, who over time manage to sell them more expensively.
Our football has seen a significant improvement in both sales and profits from these sales.
Perhaps in the total value of this global market we may be a dot in the middle of the ocean, but in reality compared to previous years and to the state of Kosovo, despite the increasing benefits of their investors due to the sponsorship law that we do not have in place, where this season there were very large figures obtained for domestic football, but in the larger market they still lag behind.
The movements between sales and purchases of players in figures in our football are higher, as are the expenses and benefits. But if in expenses we are almost similar, between 184 thousand dollars and 181 thousand dollars of the presidents of Kosovo, in benefits the leaders of Albanian football clubs have broken records, not only leaving behind Kosovo with a difference of 1.3 million dollars, but also North Macedonia, with which we are in the region that has spent twice as much as us and has benefited from sales only a little more than 800 thousand dollars.
Meanwhile, in women's football, the figures are significantly lower, with 13 players bought and only 4 sold in transfers, all of these moves having been with zero money earned or spent./ TCh
