"Always in our hearts", the redhead remembers the legend of Formula 1: Keep fighting Michael

Today marks 10 years since the day Michael Shumaker's life changed forever.

The German Formula 1 driver was skiing in the French Alps resort of Meribel when he went off the track, fell and hit his head on a rock, suffering serious head injuries.

The 54-year-old fell into an induced coma and underwent several surgeries and has not been seen in public since his accident. The family has kept his condition under wraps, although he is being monitored by a team of medical staff and his wife Korina at their home in Lake Geneva.

On today's anniversary of the horrific accident, Ferrari sent its message to the 7-time F1 World Champion. Specifically, the Italian Formula 1 team posted a photo of him on its official Twitter account and commented:

"Ten years later and always in our hearts. Keep fighting Michael."
