Oguzhan Ozyakup, the Turkish midfielder who has left his mark with the Besiktas jersey, has expressed his appreciation for the team's current midfield unit, which also includes Kristjan Asllani.
The 33-year-old, who made 310 appearances for Besiktas and captained both club and international teams, currently plays in the Netherlands. In a recent statement, he focused on the performance of the midfield trio of Asllani, Kokcu and Olaitan.
Asllani returned to the starting line-up immediately after the end of his suspension, contributing to the 3-2 win over Basaksehir. The Albanian international midfielder was part of the formation that secured the three points in a hard-fought match.
" I really like the midfield trio (Asllani, Kokcu, Olaitan). This trio looks like a solid midfield and I am very optimistic. If we can be consistent with this organization until the end of the season, Besiktas can be successful ," said Ozyakup.
The former captain's statement comes at a time when Besiktas aims for stability and positive results in the crucial phase of the season, while the contribution of the midfield is considered key to the team's objectives.
