The athlete Luiza Gega was part of the sports show "Panorama Sport" on "Panorama TV". Through a Skype connection, the unstoppable champion talked about the last races, where she managed to triumph, as well as her goals for the future. Gega also stopped at the reduction of the athletics budget by the Ministry of Education and Sports.
" This time I had new objectives, when I won the first 5000 m race, I also had the 3000 m obstacle race. We have to collect maximum points in every discipline, out of 47 countries I got the fastest time.
I feel a little ancient, it means a lot to me, because for a long time I was in the elite. The first race was 5000m, it was a bit difficult for me to win, but things went very well. I was interested in winning for the team, while the next race I was interested in for myself. From the last time we were in the competition we managed to collect 100 more points, but we have a lot of deficiencies in other disciplines.
I hope we move up a division. I want to have more athletes at a high level. Taulant Stërmasi is very dedicated and will support them a lot, he will help the young people and the current athletes that they are. Maybe I can contribute in the future too. More than 70% of the race I competed alone, it means that I am the best European athlete, I am satisfied with my achievements. I'm not used to racing in the morning and I'm not at my best, but I coped well. Other competitions are waiting for me, the big focus is on the World Championship.
The summer season is more important for the sport of athletics, but I have to stay here in the mountains away from family and society. I feel like I have more responsibility, and I try hard not to let anyone down. There are moments when I say I would like to live because I haven't enjoyed much or travel for fun, but I love athletics more than anything. Without discipline, things cannot be achieved, if I leave 1 day it will set me back a week and I cannot allow myself that. I can fail 1 or 2 races, but I can't fail the whole year. The weather has been cold and has not allowed me to train properly. Next year are the Olympic Games and I will try to give my best. I dream and I am working hard to get a medal, it is achievable, anything is possible. I will try hard to succeed .
Budget reduction- When things are to be appreciated and thanked I will always say it, but when it is the opposite I will react. The ministry informed us that there will be another part of the budget. At the moment I am satisfied with my income and I try hard to reward those who support me with results ", she declared.
