Manchester United are once again considering long-term options for the team's bench as the search for a permanent successor to Ruben Amorim continues. Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown believes Zidane's profile fits the club's requirements. Speaking to Betting Lounge, Brown described the Frenchman as an ideal candidate if United decide to change manager this summer.
" United have had a lot of great managers and that makes it difficult, " Brown said. " I would mention Zinedine Zidane. I would love to. But it's all about personalities ."
According to Braun, Zidane has the aura and authority needed to command a dressing room that has experienced several unsuccessful experiments with well-known coaches. He added that such a name would bring not only immediate respect from the players, but also enthusiasm from the fans. Another concern for United's management is the lack of Premier League experience for managers coming from other leagues. Brown recalled the difficulties Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim faced in adapting, which led to instability and internal conflicts.
" Will it work to bring in someone who has never worked in the Premier League before? That's a very important point ," said Brown. " We don't want to end up in the same situation as Erik ten Hag or Ruben Amorim. Everything has to be clear from day one: the roles, the structure and the expectations ."
In this context, Zinedine Zidane's name remains a prestigious option, but also a decision that requires careful evaluation by the Manchester United board.
