There are always unforeseen situations when renovation works are carried out, which therefore present a real terror for citizens. This is true even if your name is Cristiano Ronaldo and you've spent millions and millions of euros on your stunning new mansion.
The house in question is the one that the Portuguese champion is building near Lisbon and where he should live with Georgina and his family after his retirement from football.
The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus star, who owns several luxury properties, including a seven-storey building in Funchal, a luxury villa in Turin and a mansion in Madrid, has no problem with that.
Now, awaiting his farewell from football, here is the decision to build a villa wonderfully equipped with all luxuries, even with a glass pool with an underwater passage and a bedroom of more than 90 square meters. Not to mention limitless gardens and relaxation areas.
Unfortunately for the current Al Nassr star, the job has already been extended by about a year, and so have the costs. According to what "Look" magazine reports, the villa, which has the "dimensions of a hospital" has become an issue, since at the moment the completion times of the project cannot be clearly determined.
The project was originally expected to cost £10m, before the price was subsequently increased to £17m and now to £28m.
This is because Ronaldo wanted to buy a nearby golf course for security reasons and instead the offer was rejected.
To further complicate things is the attitude of the neighbors and people who live in this area, who contemptuously call the residence "Pharaoh Ronaldo's pyramid".
For about 3 years and with the prospect of a long time yet, these people have had to face the consequences of the works: it is said that the neighbors are "furious" with the ongoing project, with one saying:
"They have been building for three years. The house is so big it looks like a hospital. My road has been closed for months, my garden is full of dust".
In short, hard times for Ronaldo, who has also seen this giant construction site, often end up on social media, as youtubers and influencers have created content around the villa.
