The president of Lazio, Claudio Lotito, gave an interview to "Corriere dello Sport", as he focused on the departure of the sports director, Igli Tare, and the "divorce" with Milinković-Savič.
" I didn't give up on Igli, he left and I felt sorry for him on a personal, human level. Eighteen years together, a great friend and a socialite. One day Tare called me and told me that he wanted to leave and that he was grateful for everything I had given him."
Milinkovic-Savic? "I had offered him a renewal and a significant amount, but his agent told me that Saudi Arabia guaranteed 20 million a year, 18 net already taxed. The player confessed to me that he was looking for something new. When they explained to me that it was 15 million for Lazio, I replied that 15 or zero was the same for me and that I would make it stay. 15 became 20, then 30 and finally 40. Italian football doesn't lack players, but presidents, they lack competence ", declared Lotito.
