The Albanian national football team held a training session in Malaga this morning, following the friendly match against Gibraltar, won 0-1 with a goal from Jasir Asani from the penalty spot in the 69th minute.
The players who were activated during last night's match focused on recovery and some light exercises, while the players who did not play in the match completed a full training session. This afternoon, the team will travel to Tirana where they will continue preparations for the World Cup qualifying match against Latvia.
The September 9th challenge will be played on "Air Albania" starting at 20:45 and is among the most important in Group K of the World Cup qualifiers, with our team wanting to keep their hopes for the 'American dream' alive.
With five points after four matches played (semi-finals), Albania is ranked second in Group K, but has one more game than leading England (9 points) and two more than third-placed Serbia (4 points). Latvia with four points after three matches is ranked fourth, while Andorra with zero points after four matches closes the standings.
