Lionel Messi has not yet decided whether he will play in the 2026 World Cup. The Argentine forward scored twice in a 3–0 win over Venezuela in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
"I'm excited and motivated to play. As I always say, I walk towards my goal day by day, guided by my feelings. I try to feel good and, above all, to be honest with myself.
When I feel good, I enjoy it. When I don't feel good, I don't get any pleasure, so I prefer not to come [to the national team] if I don't feel good.
We'll see. I haven't made a decision about the World Cup yet.
"I'll finish this season, I'll go through preseason. We'll see how I feel. I hope to finish this MLS season well, then have a good preseason and only after that will I make my decision," said Lionel Messi.
