Albania U-19 played this afternoon the second friendly match against their peers Turkey. In the meeting played in Izmir, Turkey, the red and black led by coach Julian Ahmataj were defeated with the minimum score of 1-0.
The Albanian technician fielded this starting 11: Amarildo Dervishaj (GK), Antonis Dhama, Fabjan Perndreca, Denis Prendi, Adi Kurti (C), Mattia Huqi, Ersi Bode, Frederik Tosku, Flavio Sulejmani, Ergis Arifi, Briajan Gjyla.
Albania started the match very well and went on the attack in the first minutes of the meeting to unlock the result. The Reds dominated the first half and created some good chances with Sulejmani, Gjyla and Arif, but without success. The first half ended in a 0-0 draw.
In the second half, coach Ahmataj made several substitutions on the field, giving the opportunity to almost all players to show their qualities.
Turkey scored the only goal of the match and the victory in the 85th minute. The Reds tried to react to equalize the result but without success. In the end, the challenge ended with the victory of Turkey U-19 with the minimum score of 1-0.
The friendly matches against Turkey U-19 were a good opportunity for the technical staff of the U-19 National Team to approve the team within the framework of the commitments in the European "Romania 2025" qualifiers for this age group that will be played in our country in November.
Albania is part of Group 11, along with Israel, Denmark and Northern Ireland, and has as its objective the transition to the "Elite Round" stage.
