Judge Rexhep Bekteshi, 70, known as the 'Bribery Pocket' for 33 years, declared the trafficker Trifon Murataj innocent for 33.5 kg of cocaine seized at the Port of Durres (November 2022); considering him a 'victim' of international networks. The prosecution did not appeal. Murataj, wanted for 2 years for another drug case, was free in the courtroom. 'Bana King' containers are no longer checked, despite reports from the DEA and EUROPOL.
With an absurd decision and by hiding evidence, the Durrës judge, 70-year-old Rexhep Bekteshi, has acquitted trafficker Trifon Murataj, although in the years 2021-2024, about 2 tons of cocaine in total were seized on 4 occasions, hidden in banana crates in the containers of his company "Bana King".
Judge Rexhep Bekteshi, or "The Pocket of Bribes", as he has been known for 33 years by his colleagues at the Durrës Court and by those whose troubles were brought to his "hammer", on June 23, 2026, dismissed the charges against trafficker Trifon Murataj and his company "Bana King".
The decision was made silently and has now taken the definitive form of the innocence of the trafficker Trifon Murataj, because surprisingly, the Durrës prosecution, which had filed the charges with evidence, did not appeal the decision to the Court of Appeal.
This investigation pertained to the second case of 33.5 kilograms of cocaine seized on the evening of November 3, 2022 in the containers of the "Bana King" company at the Port of Durres, substantiated with scans and physical photographs of the bags of cocaine in the banana crates.
But the judge and the Durrës prosecution concluded that the "Bana King" company, its owner Trifon Murataj, and his employees were not involved in the trafficking of cocaine that was found in the banana containers.
According to the decision of Judge "Xhepi" and the agreement of the prosecution, the company "Bana King" and owner Trifon Murataj "were victims of international criminal drug trafficking networks, which deliberately and secretly use the means of honest banana import companies, such as 'Bana King', to smuggle cocaine from Latin America to Europe and Durrës."
The scandal is further deepened by the fact that the decision states that the alleged owner of "Bana King", Trifon Murataj, had previously notified the police of the risk of cocaine in the banana crates.
When the police themselves submitted the report to the prosecutor's office with concrete facts, even the BKH, DEA and EUROPOL investigators reported on the cocaine trafficking that Trifon Murataj was doing and continues to do through the containers of his company "Bana King".
The other scandal is this: Trifon Murataj was present at the court session as a free person, although he has been wanted for nearly 2 years for another investigation into drug trafficking and violations of rules at work, but, as is understood, these cases have also been quietly dismissed.
So, 70-year-old judge Rexhep Bekteshi removed the "stains" of cocaine trafficking from the "Bana King" company and its owner Trifon Murataj; proof that the state does not touch it, for reasons known to the heads of the police, prosecution, courts and subordinates they use to dismiss cases.
For 5 years, since the first shipment of 119 kg of cocaine was seized in the "Bana King" containers, SPAK has transferred the investigations to the Durrës and Tirana district prosecutors, when it is its competence to investigate organized crime in implementation of the task for which it was created and in implementation of the Anti-Mafia law.
But, as is understood, Trifon Murataj of "Bana King" is so much more powerful than the state, that according to information from the police, "Bana King" containers in Durrës have not been scanned or physically checked for 2 years, even when they inform the DEA and EUROPOL; and they report them as if they are "clean"./ Pamphlet
