Aurelien Tchuameni has publicly reacted after Real Madrid decided to fine him 500,000 euros following an incident that occurred in training with teammate Federico Valverde. The incident has caused a lot of reactions in the Madrid environment, while according to reports, Valverde ended up in hospital after the clash between the two footballers.
In a recently published statement, the French midfielder expressed regret for the situation and accepted responsibility for the negative image that, according to him, was given to the club.
" What happened this week at training is unacceptable. I say this thinking about the example we are expected to set for young people, whether in football or at school. Regardless of who is right or wrong, we should always seek the most peaceful solution to resolve a conflict ," Tchuameni wrote.
The footballer stressed that frustration over a disappointing season cannot justify such behavior, adding that such incidents do not represent the values of Real Madrid.
" These incidents, even if they could happen in any dressing room, are not worthy of Real Madrid. Especially since Real is the most talked about club in the world ," he continued.
Tchuameni announced that he had accepted the club's sanction and apologized to both the group and the Madrid fans.
" We remain a family, sometimes with disagreements, but we must always put our objectives above everything else. I apologized to the group, and I also want to apologize to all the Madrid fans ," the French midfielder concluded.
At the end of his reaction, Tchuameni called for the team to focus on the remaining matches of the season, especially "El Clasico", with the aim of returning Real Madrid "where it belongs, at the top".
