The United States national team has just released its roster for this summer's World Cup. Among the missing names is Albanian talent Adri Mehmeti.
The 17-year-old, who is having a positive season with New York Red Bull in MLS, was not included by coach Mauricio Pochettino in the final list of the USA. The decision has come as a surprise, especially considering the interest that some of the biggest European clubs have shown in the young striker.
According to reports, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and PSG are among the teams that are closely monitoring Mehmet's performances in the American championship.
So far, the footballer has been part of the US chain teams, but has not yet debuted with the first national team. This situation could pave the way for the Albanian National Team, which now has a concrete opportunity to convince the talent to choose the red and black jersey.
A return of Mehmet to Albania would not be something new, as he has been part of the Albanian youth national teams, specifically with the U-15 team during 2023.
It now remains to be seen whether the Albanian Football Federation will take concrete steps to bring one of the most promising talents of the moment closer.
