The professional boxing event "Iron Fist" held its second edition on Friday in Tirana. An event that presented a spectacle in the "Feti Borova" hall with 16 duels, as the Albanian boxing elite climbed into the ring, while there were also challenges in the ranks of women.
Alban Beqiri, the most successful Albanian in Olympic boxing as a world medalist, won his 10th career as a professional, as he forced the Turkish Oner Sahinerol to retire.
" The hopes and goals are to reach the top, the first, but I want to say something that my wonderful audience is numerous and this is the reason we dominate over the opponents ," said Alban Beqiri.
A very good performance by Denis Nurja, who triumphed over his rival from Namibia, Charles Shinima, causing the latter his first defeat in his career after 17 victories. This was the 13th success in as many duels for Nurjan. Excellent performance by Albam Bërmeta, who won against the Turkish Fatih Keles, scoring his 15th victory, while he continues to remain undefeated in the ring. Another convincing test from Mikel Çullhaj, who dominated the Georgian Aduashvili, being confirmed as one of the best Albanian boxers.
" In the first round we should have been a little better, but in the second round we showed ourselves who we are. A deserved victory I believe. In 2024, we aim to climb as high as possible in the world classification and we will achieve it ," said Mikel Çullhaj.
Victories were also recorded by Xhuzepe Jaka, Armando Karaj in his debut, as well as Aleksandër Ramo. Thus "Grushti i hekurt" lowers the veil of another successful edition, an event organized by Taulant Stërmasi and which was closely followed by the highest leaders of Albanian sports, starting with the president of KOKSH, Fidel Ylli, to continue with the deputy minister of MAS, Endrit Hoxha, with the head of the Albanian Boxing Federation, Florent Kalivopulli, as well as with the presidency of the Union of Professional Boxing in Albania, Ilir Bregasi.
