Qualifying for the first time in the World Cup play-offs has not been enough for the Albanian national team to climb the FIFA rankings.
The victory over Andorra brought minimal points, which were neutralized by the home defeat to England. Thus, the Rossoneri have lost 0.27 points compared to the ranking a month ago and have fallen from 61st to 63rd place.
Meanwhile, it is noteworthy that Kosovo has set a new record after the victory over Slovenia and the draw against Switzerland, which pushed it towards qualifying for the World Cup "play-offs" as well. It is now 4 places higher in the FIFA classification, positioning itself at 80th.
The November FIFA rankings are the ones that will be used to draw the World Cup play-offs and finals. As is known, the FIFA rankings for the European zone place Albania in the third pot in the draw, meaning they will play the first semi-final match away from home.
