After Real Madrid's heavy defeat at Benfica with a score of 4-2, Kylian Mbappe did not hide his disappointment and anger in the statements he made.
The French striker, author of two goals for "Los Blancos", harshly criticized the team for the lack of continuity and for the sudden drops during the match, emphasizing that a team aiming for the most important European trophy cannot alternate such unstable performances.
" There is no continuity in the game and we have to solve this problem. We cannot have one brilliant day and another where we completely fail. This does not suit a team that is going to win the Champions League ," said Mbappe.
His reaction was clearly related to the fourth goal scored by goalkeeper Trubin in the last seconds.
" That fourth goal... it's a shame ," Mbappe added, visibly irritated.
Real's situation was further complicated by red cards for Raul Asensio and Rodrigo, which left the team with nine men in the crucial minutes. The Madrid team had the opportunity to secure eighth place with a draw, but failed to do so.
